What do you value?

Anyone that knows me well knows that I avoid owning nice things.

Why?

I don't take care of the things that I own.

I lose them, break them, forget about them, crack them and overall destroy anything I have that's nice. I lost a necklace from my grandmother one time that was very important to me, but losing it only made me fear the consequence of losing it. It didn't wreck my world, because I recognized that it was just an item.

My husband said the other day, "I tried to picture you with a MacBook Pro and how you might take care of it. I didn't picture it going very well... I don't mean this to be negative or put you down, but is there anything that you care enough about to actually take care of?"

Me, ".................................................................................."

"................................................"

"My body?'

What is it that you take excellent care of? Your jewelry? Family Photos? Car? Yard? Pets?

Ask yourself something. Do you care for these things at the expense of your own body?

Do you provide better care of your things than the one physical object that keeps you ALIVE?

If the answer is yes, I want to encourage you.

I pray you are inspired and motivated in some way to treat your body like the finest, most valuable thing you have ever owned.

Without a healthy body, you will no longer be capable of caring for that which is precious to you.

You will eventually need others to care for not only those things you so deeply value, but for your physical body (often at the expense of their own health).

Feeling as if you are a burden to others can be a killer of quality of life and self esteem.

Don't let yourself get there. Don't waste anymore time putting the most important item you own on the backburner. Make it the priority it should be, and take care of yourself.
